The direct cause of the collapse phenomenon is that the color plate curls and unwinds (after the color roll is taken off the line), resulting in a loose roll phenomenon. After the coil plate is uncoiled, due to the decrease in the number of layers of steel strip per unit thickness of the steel coil, the specific strength decreases compared to the normal state, and the horizontal steel coil collapses under its own gravity. Loosening mainly refers to the relative sliding between the rigid layers of the rolled steel strip, which means that there is not enough static friction between the rigid layers of the strip, which means that the large static friction between the layers of the strip steel is not sufficient to prevent the relative movement between the layers of the strip steel.
In practice, cold rolled and hot rolled steel coils often collapse during coiling. The solution is usually to modify the tension. The set value generally increases a certain tension based on ordinary steel, which increases the interlayer friction force of the strip. For different polyester color coated plates, due to the large static friction force being closely related to ambient temperature, humidity, and the microscopic state of the material friction surface, especially the latter, the contact mode between the coatings after baking and curing is surface to surface contact, and the coating does not generate compression deformation. Properly increasing the coiling tension and increasing the static friction force between the layers can effectively prevent the occurrence of roll collapse.
